I have been working a new great project the past few weeks. It has to do with cool things like women (yeah ladies!), un-cool things like sexual abuse and trauma (boo), and childbearing.
I was contacted by an organization called "Survivor Moms" a few months back to work on this project. They are an amazing (now government funded!) organization that helps expectant women cope through their pregnancy and childbirth who have also been victims of sexual abuse or trauma. It is unfortunate that such a program needs to exist, but incredibly humbling that there are generous people out there trying to help and make a difference. I feel lucky to be apart of such a beautiful cause. These illustrations will be in full color and will be available to women as a computer program and a physical booklet. Who knows, maybe you'll see one in the flesh at your doctors office sometime in the future?

>> I'm excited to enjoy this band tonight!
>> I decided that I really want to buy a few miniature horses when I grow up. Have you seen these funny looking things? They can be mini besties with Albus.

very cool cait!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful project! I can't imagine going through something like that, for a mommy to be who has experienced it, or a child who is going through it right now. It's disgusting to know that there are sick people out there who do that sort of thing to anyone let alone a child.
ReplyDeleteAwesome blog! And, I love miniature horses, they are so adorable! I've often thought about adopting one someday. Did you know they potty train themselves? They're very smart animals!
