copy it
Here's a new one I'm working on. How will it turn out? Nobody knows. Thrilling, right?
Here's my new favorite simplifying in-the-studio art tip. I doodle: whatever, wherever, whenever, and then I go to kinkos every few weeks. When I'm there I rummage through my doodles and pick my favorites. I press the winners to the glass and copy them to 11x17 paper (this works for me because I have a bunch of 16x20 canvases I'm trying to go through). I figure, once I've already got the sketch I'm crazy about, why spend so much time trying to recreate it?
Charcoal the back of the xerox, re-sketch the image, and transfer the image to the canvas. Easy as pie. Or easy as apple cobbler. Mmmm, I could go for a mean fruit cobbler right now. But then again, I could always go for a mean fruit cobbler. Seriously, any day of the week, you say, "want a meal fruit cobbler?" and I'll say, "heck yes I do". For the record, I had a nice fruit cobbler once, and I hated it.
Happy creating!
>> Anyone want to link up to any projects they've finished lately?
>> My friend, Camille, made this peach cobbler at a party a few weeks ago. It was amazing.
>> I finally finished that last huge batch of portraits! If you ordered one you should see it in your mailbox shortly. Thanks to everyone who signed up, I'll do another batch in a few months.
