They started filming in the band room (aka. garage) and it didn't take long for the smell of man sweat to dominate, there were too many boys packed in there for too long. The guitarists talked nerd guitar talk for a while and amazed us with their luscious locks.
They interviewed all of the boys in their favorite hometown venue, the Velour. They also interviewed Corey Fox, a man we all admire because he has literally put the Provo music scene on the map in helping raise bands like Neon Trees, Joshua James, Imagine Dragons, Eyes Lips Eyes... you get the idea.
I decided after the first day I really wanted Hum to wear this new blazer I found at the thrift store in the music video shoot the next day. (Oh what, that old fancy forest green thing? It may or may not have been in the women's blazer section and it may or may not have shoulder pads.) I stayed up until the middle of the night sewing on missing buttons and relocating golden chains. We headed up the mountain side for an impromptu semi-acoustic fireside recording. What song changed their life you ask? You might just have to watch the episode (airs end of April) to find out! Hee, hee, hee, I am such a mean tease.
There was a lot of silly nonsense that went on over those few days. I loved having a job that required me to put make-up all over my brothers face and use product in his hair. Having power like that allows me to get back at him for years of sibling teasing.
A special thanks to my trusty side-kick caboodle who kept me company for the gig. To document this sweet partnership I decided to take an affectionate portrait of my caboodle sitting thoughtfully on a rustic stair case with a soft afternoon light trickling through the frosted glass panes.
I'll let you know when this show is going to air, you won't want to miss it!
And now, for something completely different!
>> Remember the glory days of caboodles?
>> Work your thighs for Eyes Lips Eyes! (a kickstarter project with serious style)
>> Love Brooke's funny blog post and that Jack and White got a remix! I think I shall write a song for the sole purpose of having it remixed.
>> A beautiful folky free download from the lovely Sarah Sample

Ahh! That is too cool! :D
