aunt!

When I married Hum 5 years ago I became an Aunt to lots and lots of nieces and nephews.  Fact: did you know Hum is one of 13 kids?  It is true.  He's the 10th kid and there are over 30 grandkids!... I lost count recently.  They're all very beautiful, smart, kind, sparkly eyed, and some of them have curly hair like Hum's.  I like being an Aunt to all of these kids, but I am giddy with excitement because I am finally going to be an Aunt on my side of the family!

I have a smaller (but still significantly sized) family with two older brothers and one younger brother.  Just ask them about how spoiled I was as the only girl.  You can also ask my mom about how I only wanted to wear my brothers hammy down clothes instead of pink skirts.  Sorry bout that Mom.  Well, my two oldest brothers and their lovely wives are both expecting their first child due this Summer and I am giddy with excitement!  I just found out last week that my brother Stuart and his wife are having a boy.

To celebrate I made them a hipster western baby boy onesie!
Obviously.

My oldest brother, Andrew, and his wife are waiting 9 long months for the gender surprise.  Who else has done that??  I could not be that patient (seriously) and I'm trying to brain storm ways to convince them to find out sooner.  Plus, I need to know what color of hipster western onesie to make them.

  6. I'm "Aunt Anna" to 37 and it gets pretty wild at reunions. Love those little people though!

  7. So envious of your large families (yeah, I'm a little crazy like that)! I have to tell you - I LOVE "hammy down" - if it's cool with you I am going to steal it to make it more cool for my boy to get his brother's hammy downs! Right now he keeps saying (he's 4, I might add), "Uhm, mama - I think that's too small for ME too..." Uh, okay kid - wear the hammy down!

We waited both times to find out the gender of our kids. I didn't start to lose my resolve until the last month the 1st time around, oddly enough. The 2nd time around, I didn't want to find out because I was afraid that I'd be disappointed if it was another boy (it was, I wasn't) and I knew that if I had just done all that dang work and had a sweet babe in my arms, it wouldn't matter if it was a boy or a girl. I have to admit that a wee bit of the fun of not finding out was how CRAZY it made everyone else around us! Ha!

    PS - supercute onesie!
