Wendy

I am attempting to become better acquainted with the fine skills of a seamstress.  I really don't know what I'm doing and it probably takes me 5x as long to finish a project because I'm making it up as I go - but I am having fun trying.  And isn't fun what it's all about?

/ DIY pendant - love lovely shop / shirt - target /
/ skirt - my brain via thrift store fabric / boots - blowfish /

Remember the cool fabric I got?  I made a pencil skirt!  What do you think?  I'm self conscious about taking photos by myself, so I had Wendy join me.  We decided to have a creepy staring contest together.  I had a strong start but then my eyes started to water up, my nose started to run, I started to drool a little bit, and I had to give up.   But Wendy is still sitting on that shelf staring at me and gloating her victory.  She creeps me out big time, man.

The owner of Love Lovely contacted me not too long ago and asked if I could participate in a pendant project.  Once I saw how cool the pendant was I was excited to join in the fun.

It's a wooden circle that you can cross stitch any design onto.  I played around with a few ideas and I ended up spray painting part of it silver and doing a simple stitch with cream string.  Would you wear it?  Tell me the truth.  Wendy told me she wanted to buy one but I just don't trust her.  I don't trust her at all.

Buy your own wooden pendant here and check out the other contributors to the pendant project here.

I LOVE the vintage look of these pics! So neat. But I'll be honest, Wendy creeps me out a little, too.

The skirt looks great! I got a new sewing machine and I have tons of fabric.. but I'm scared!

The pendant is awesome. It would be cool to do chevron stripes or some funky pattern like your skirt! LOVE IT!

You look so cute in your photos! I ALWAYS feel so awkward taking pictures of myself. Back in the day, it was no big deal, but now I get all self-conscious! Nice sewing skills!

Cute Caitlin!! Well done, I love the fabric!

You should check out the book Sew What Skirts from the library. I did a fews years ago and I loved it! It teaches you how to sew many simple skirts just by measuring your body and going from there. It really allowed me to have some freedom, get creative and learn some basic sewing structure for many different skirts. And with your creative mind, the ideas could be endless!

You look cute! Good to "see" you!
