you must be married to a musician if...

Aren't these guys the cutest?

Did you know each one of these dreamboat guys has a special lady in their life?  Sorry single ladies... :)
{did the band just loose a bunch of fans due to this announcement? uh oh.}

All of the band ladies have plenty of hilarious stories up our sleeves about what it is like to be married to or dating a musician.  We've been exchanging stories and laughs and I can't wait to share them with you.  I'll start with a few stories of mine today, and I'll save their good stories for another day.  So, you know, enjoy.

You must be married to a musician if...

- he has better hair than you do

- buying cd's is considered an "important educational experience" and a package from amazon.com arrives on your porch nearly every other day

- you open closets and discover new guitars you didn't even know he owned

- he wears skinnier jeans than you do

- he talks about guitars like most guys talk about cars... "oh yeah, mustangs, explorers, jaguars... such a great body paint color, those nicks and dents make it look vintage..."

- he can get out of using a table saw for home repair projects because his fingers are too valuable

- he usually works until 2 am and starts his day at noon

- he has a more expensive and cool wardrobe than his wife

- he can talk about sensitive things and still sound manly... "I'm really going to play this solo from my heart"

****

also... a big warm welcome to all of our new blog readers!
thank you for your charming comments and sharing your healing experiences with me, you are great.

  1. Great post!

So funny as I was just talking to a friend the other day (who does not have a musical significant other) trying to explain to her how my boyfriend has odd habits, she just didn't get it. For example, my boyfriend is drummer and he is always "drumming" with his hands...non-stop and on every surface he can find (the steering wheel, the sides of his chairs, tabletops and sometimes even my legs/arms).

Being a special lady/or gentleman to a musically inclined individual does bring its own set of experiences.

  8. Once my wife (sometimes known as Cait's sister-in-law), who is a musician, woke up saying "I was writing a symphony...and it had a really great french horn part." Another time she wrote an entire cello piece in her sleep, but she dreamed that her friend was playing it and was convinced that it was actually her friend who had written it. So the next day she asked her friend, and it turns out that, no, it was all just a dream. But the piece turned out great!

  9. Hehe too funny. My boyfriend has way better hair than I do and weighs probably 30 pounds less. Needless to say his jeans are a quite a bit skinnier.

  11. Haha, yes - so true. ESPECIALLY the CDs and packages from Amazon + new guitars (can you say, collection in our basement?) + talking about guitars.
I would also add, knowing the intimate details of the personal lives of the musicians in their favorite bands. As in, if someone didn't know better, they might think Tom Petty was a friend of ours.
I came here from cjane. I enjoyed this post!
