One day left... the suspense is killing me! Thank you for all your excited texts, calls, facebook messages... yahda yahda. I still don't know the outcome, but I know we will find out tomorrow... and don't worry, of course I'll keep you updated :)
remember this little illustration I created a while back? do you want one...?
I printed it and had all of the Fictionist boys sign it, lovely right?
For those of you who don't understand "illustrations" I'll help you out {I learned about this when I got my art degree in college}. There is a magical thing that happens when something fancy appears inside your brain, or your thought muscles. Little ideas come to life like a youthful seedling planted in very plush soil. With a little care and tenderness, you can turn these fancy things into visual creations that make your eyes very, very happy - happy enough they want to a do a little eye dance for a crowd. As an artist, you know once you've reach the "eye dancing" status, your fanciful creations have full blossomed into their finished product. Congratulations. Now it is time to send your image to a printer via the interweb to be able to let all eyes dance and enjoy it equally.
I hope you feel thoroughly educated on this topic.
If the band moves on to the top 2, I'll give away five of these signed prints tomorrow to celebrate!
Make sure to check back for the exciting news!

Keeping toes & fingers crossed. I can't wait to hear the news! ;)
ReplyDeleteI wish I was a mutant animal, like a polydactyl cat, so I could cross more than the fingers I have. Also, polydactyl cats exist, and I want the world to know. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polydactyl_cat
ReplyDeleteThe more you know!
ps--GOOD LUCK!
Love it!
ReplyDeleteAnd I could use more Hue and Hum episodes in my life.
Oooh, wonderful illustration! I heart typewriters. Best of luck!
ReplyDeletesweet illustration! best of luck!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun giveaway! I can say I knew them back in the day and have proof!
ReplyDeleteI already heard they did not make it on (Facebook friends with the band) but I am still so excited for all the coverage they have gotten over the last few months. I'm also looking forward to any Provo shows they'll be playing because I am moving out there in June and I would like (read: want, crave, need) to see them play!
ReplyDeleteAnywhere we could buy this print anyway?
I think you should still give those away, Fictionist rocks even without the contest. And the prints just look so darn cool!
